The idea behind the Breakwater project was to come up with a unique luxury offer on Lake Como that would distance itself from the 5-star hotel stay. A combination of high-level services but in the setting of a private villa that could guarantee guests immeasurable privacy.

It all began with Breakwater Griante, a former boatyard owned by the Cranchi family that was completely decommissioned and modernized, and is now a property with contemporary character and modern design elements.

2021 saw the completion of the renovation of Atelier di Loppia, a true gem on the shore of Bellagio, near the hamlet of Loppia and close to the famous gardens of Villa Melzi. With a private dock and a lakefront garden with swimming pool, the villa is perfect for a relaxing vacation with a few intimates.

The most recent project, completed in August 2023 after one year and eight months, is Breakwater Bellagio. Its renovation breathed new life into a 19th-century mansion, giving it an elegant and luxurious look by combining modern elements with classic architecture. Its many terraces and infinity pool allow guests to admire the panorama of the Lecco branch.

Breakwater Como is continuously expanding, and our team is already working on the renovation of a new villa in Moltrasio that will be completed for the 2026 season. The property will consist of 8 suites, private docking and lakefront location, a feature shared by all our villas.
